Free Services for Women Undergoing Cancer Treatment
Helping women simplify their lives—that’s one of the goals of DNC Cleaning, but Carla Holmes, President of the company, has taken that goal to a new level. Two years ago, Holmes met Deborah Sardone, founder of Cleaning for a Reason, and saw her passion for helping women in need and knew that she wanted to get involved. Cleaning for a Reason is a national non-profit organization that provides free professional housecleaning or maid service to women currently undergoing treatment for any kind of cancer.
Fighting cancer is difficult and living with it is even tougher—that’s where the Cleaning for a Reason Foundation steps in. Any woman currently undergoing cancer treatment can apply for services through the organization’s website. An online application must be completed, and if it is successful, the applicant will be contacted by Cleaning for a Reason staff and asked to provide verification from a doctor that cancer treatment is currently being received. Once this process is complete, DNC Cleaning will then provide four free general cleanings once a month for four months. Mitchell Jeter, Business Development for DNC, said, “We don’t know a single person that has not been affected by cancer, either directly or indirectly. This partnership has not only enabled us to serve our community, but it is so rewarding for everyone involved.”
Because of their two-year partnership with Cleaning for a Reason, DNC Cleaning, Inc. was recently showcased in Hoover’s Cleaning Service Partner Spotlight on Hoover’s Facebook page. “We want to get the word out about Cleaning for a Reason and challenge any other service providers in our area to partner with them as well. This is a wonderful organization that helps meet the simplest need, and unfortunately, there is never a shortage of women in need,” says Holmes. “If we recruit more providers, then more women can receive services. It’s that simple. Fortunately, social media and local publications are making it easier to spread the word.”
