Kids' summer adventures are waiting
Have you visited the public library lately? If not, load up the kids this summer and head that way--a world of adventure is waiting on the shelves!
The Sammy Brown Library has scheduled some exciting events for the summer months. Each Wednesday at 2:00 PM, Mrs. Kyle Walker, new children's coordinator, will host a summer full of fun for children ages 3-12.
· June 8 - Professional storyteller and puppeteer, Dru Woods, is well known for her enthusiasm and ability to create a memorable experience for children.
· June 15 - The "Creature Teacher" will bring live critters to enhance her stories.
· June 22 - Gina Smith and her Therapy Dog, Elvis, will visit and read a story.
· June 29 - Participants will decorate sugar cookies with Lynette Minturn
If you've never been to the Sammy Brown Library, you're missing a treat. Much more is available than just books. Besides having over 50,000 books in circulation, the library also provides these services: notary service, copies, FAX for you to send or receive, genealogy research materials, tax forms, large print & audio books for adults & children, movie rentals, plus a high-speed Internet lab and free wi-fi for your use. Take some time this summer to visit the Library-- hours are 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Monday - Friday and 9:00 AM to Noon on Saturday. You'll always find a very helpful and friendly staff.
