On November 2, the Sammy Brown Library will begin its wreath contest and silent auction.. The wreaths, which are for sale, have been made by different organizations, schools, and individuals.  The Board of Directors voted to donate the proceeds from this year’s contest to, The Samaritan House, a local food bank.

Prizes are offered for the wreath which gets the highest popular vote and for the wreath which brings in the most money for charity. Second and third place winners in the popular vote contest will receive ribbons.

New and beautiful Christmas wreaths will be on display in the Library, and the silent auction will continue until November 24.  Winners will be announced on November 30.  The minimum bid for one of the wreaths is $30.00.  Each additional bid must go up at least $1.00.

If unable to visit the Library and see the wreaths in person, go to the library’s Facebook page and “Like” the wreath that is your favorite.

“The Library hopes to encourage people to visit during the month of November,” says Director Debbie Godwin. “We hope that you will come in to check out the wreaths or check out the Sammy Brown Library Facebook page, and help us raise money for a local charity.”
